Interviewer instructions
THIS COLUMN MUST BE LEFT BLANK. This is for the code of primary occupation which will be filled up during office processing.
This will be based on the entry in Column 26 - primary occupation of the person 10 years old and over.
If a person has two or more jobs, consider as primary job the one which is permanent, whether full time or part time. If all the jobs are permanent, consider as his primary job the one where he works more hours. However, if these jobs have equal hours of work, consider as primary the job from where he derives more income.
A person operating his own farm should be reported as farmer-owner while the person hired to manage or oversee a farm is farm manager or overseer. Paid laborers or unpaid family workers assisting in the farm operation are considered farm workers.
Be specific in reporting the occupation of a person. Describe adequately the job performed such as radio technician, public elementary school teacher, heavy equipment driver, and the like.
