During the PAST MONTH, how much on the average is your monthly expenses/consumption on the following?
This item gathers the value of items purchased or services availed of by the family on personal care and effects during the past month.
Examples of expenditures on personal care and effects are beauty aid and toilet articles such as cleansing cream, astringent, body deodorant, lotion, baby oil, make-up cosmetics, perfumes, powder, razor blade, toilet/bath soap, toilet and tissue paper, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, shampoo, conditioner, etc.; personal effects such as fine and costume jewelry, wristwatch, handbag, wallet, umbrella, etc.; beauty parlor and barbershop service fees; and services paid for sauna bath, body massage, aerobics, fees for dance instructors, etc.
If any member of the family bought any item or paid for any services for his own personal care and effects, enter the value of the item(s) or services under “In cash/on credit” column. However, if the goods were received as gifts or the services were rendered free by any non-family member to the sample family, enter the imputed value in Received as Gifts” column.
