1. To review and follow up on issues raised from initial RapidFTR mission report, including: a. attention to previously existing UASC cases; b. older unaccompanied children who fled the area in search of employment, noting the risk of migration and trafficking; and c. need for greater community understanding around the concept of ‘unaccompanied or separated’; or ‘children who have lost both parents and may need support’; 6. To document and assess RapidFTR implementation in the Philippines against global and national minimum standards; 7. To provide recommendations for RapidFTR training/capacity building in DRR; 8. To explore prospects for greater ownership and involvement with RapidFTR by government partners. | |
1. To examine how CFS contributed to child protection programming in the context of relief and recovery in emergencies; 2. To assess the role of UNICEF-supported CFS as a response and protection mechanism: a. in the context of the affected areas; b. using the Guidelines for Child-Friendly Spaces in Emergencies, the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and the UNICEF Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action (CCCs); 3. To determine the extent to which the CFS integrated principles, such as equity, gender sensitivity, inclusivity, community participation and human rights, were actually implemented in practice; 4. The Project will undertake activities towards the development, publication and dissemination of the 8th Philippine Human Development Report. The Project aims to explore and synthesize the findings on the characteristics of inequality in the Philippines, understand the dynamics of wealth accumulation and their effects on asset and income inequality, identify the links between inequality, human development and growth, and pinpoint public policies that may reduce inequality in the country, given findings on sources of inequity of outcomes. | |
This is a community-based research that aims to gather national epidemiological data on violence against children experienced in a range of situations and locations. It also includes a stakeholders qualitative analysis that seeks to identify the factors that facilitate or impede a more effective implementation of VAC programs in the local level and under a devolved setting. Specific Objectives: 1. To estimate the national prevalence of violence against children (VAC) in various forms and settings; 2. To identify the personal, interpersonal, organizational, and socio-cultural factors associated with various forms of VAC; 3. To enumerate the health consequences of VAC; 4. To assess children’s knowledge and utilization of health, legal and welfare services related to VAC; 5. To obtain stakeholders’ views about VAC including the perceived reasons why VAC persist in the communities, adequacy/inadequacy of existing services, type of resources and services still needed, their readiness to implement VAC services as well as their capability-building needs. | |
To assess the nutritional and health status of children and women, as well as the feeding practices of infants and young children in selected areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Regions VI, VII and VIII. Specifically it aims to: 1. Assess the prevalence of stunting and acute malnutrition among children 6-59 months old in areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Regions 8 and Regions 6 and 7 combined; 2. Assess the period prevalence of diarrhea and acute respiratory infection among children; 3. Determine children’s access to vitamin A supplementation, measles vaccination, deworming and treatment of common childhood infections and acute malnutrition during the past 6 months; 4. Provide an update on the status of optimal breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices among infants and young children 0-23 months; using WHO/UNICEF core indicators; 5. Assess acute malnutrition among women 15-49 years old including pregnant and lactating women using MUAC; 6. Assess access of pregnant women to health care and delivery services; and 7. Compare results with the National Nutrition Cluster’s SRP targets and recommend future activities/programs beyond the SRP in affected areas. | |

To expand the CRESS as a tool to monitor statistical financing and for better planning for national statistical development. The project is part of the pilot project in Asia-Pacific region, with Philippines as one of the pilot countries. Technical support will be extended to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the conduct of forum and meetings on CRESS. |
