Description
Health facility utilization - aims to ascertain the extent of utilization of health facilities and the services availed by any member of the household; in this case, whether the respondent or any member of the household visited a rural health unit (RHU)/urban health center during the past six months, that is, for the period December 2002 to May 2003, if the interview is conducted in June or for the period January 2003 to June 2003, if the interview is conducted in July 2003.
Rural health unit (RHU)/urban health center - a field health facility managed by a Municipal Health Officer (MHO). The MHO, together with a nurse and midwife, provides the basic health services for a municipality/city. In the National Capital Region, all health centers are classified as RHUs.
The health facilities includes the following:
• Barangay health station
• Rural health unit (RHU)/urban health center
• Government hospital (regional/public medical center, provincial, district, and municipal hospital)
• Private hospital
• Private clinic
• Others
