Description
{Indicator if household member number 3 is currently attending school}
Currently attending school - pertains to attendance in school of persons aged 5 to 24 years in school year June 2003 to April 2004.
The term "currently attending" refers to persons generally attending school. It does not measure how often the person actually attends school but whether the person attends school at all. If a person goes to school occasionally, or usually goes to school but has been absent from school recently, the person should still be considered as currently attending school. However, if a person has left school and does not intend to return to school during the current school year, he/she should not be considered as currently attending school.
School - refers to formal schools, including vocational/technical schools offering postsecondary courses.
Attendance in these schools leads to higher grade and ultimately, to an academic title/degree. It also includes attendance in night classes.
