Encircle "1" for persons who have ever attended school, and "2" for those who have never attended school. Do any of the following depending on the response obtained:
· If the person has never attended school, leave Column 11 to 15 blank and proceed to the next household member.
· If the person ever attended school, continue asking the question in Column 11.
Include school attendance that is leading to a school diploma in vocational high school, such as school of arts and trades or technical high school, and rural or agricultural high schools. Also include attendance in postsecondary vocational/technical schools which are within the regular system of education, such as universities and colleges like University of the Philippines Rural High School, Samson Institute, and others.
Exclude, however, attendance in vocational schools outside the regular system of education, such as short courses in dressmaking, beauty culture, hair science, auto mechanics, motor vehicle driving, typing stenography, bookkeeping, and others. Also exclude day care centers which teach the children nursery rhymes and alphabet just to make them busy.
