Whether or not the person is a usual resident of the household, this question should be asked.
Encircle "1" if the person slept in the household the night before the interview and "2" if not.
If after asking the questions in Columns 5 and 6, it was found out that the person does not usually live in the household (Column 5 is 'NO”) and did not sleep there last night (Column 6 is also “NO”), delete the person from the list by lining out the row occupied by the person starting from Column 1 to Column 15. Description
{Indicator if household member number 20 slept in the household the night before the interview}
Household member who slept in the household previous night - person who slept (spent the night) in the household the night before the interview. It also intends to determine whether the person listed is a usual resident or visitor of the household.
VISITOR
A visitor is someone who is not a member of the household, but slept in the household a night prior to the interview. He/She should be listed in the household schedule and will qualify as respondent for the individual interview if the visitor is a female aged 15 to 49 or a male aged 15 to 54. It should be noted, however, that the visitor does not qualify to be a respondent for the household interview.
Household - a social and economic unit consisting of a person living alone or a group of persons who:
1. sleep in the same housing unit, and
2. have a common arrangement in the preparation and consumption of food.
In most cases, a household consists of persons who are related by kinship ties, like parents and their children. In some instances, several generations of familial ties may be represented in one household while, still in others, even more distant relatives are members of the household.
