Access Conditions

PSA Data Archive

Requesting for raw microdata available in PSA are free-of-charge while special tabulations from the raw microdata may be charged. Authorization to use microdata outside the PSA OpenSTAT Portal is granted only to the clients or data users and persons within their organizations, if applicable. Under no circumstances shall the clients reproduce, distribute, sell or lend the entire data or parts thereof to any other data users apart from themselves or that of authorized employees in their organization. The PSA shall hold the data users fully responsible for safeguarding the data from any unauthorized access or use.

Before being granted access to the dataset, all users have to formally agree:

  1. To make no copies of any files or portions of files to which they are granted access except those authorized by the PSA.
  2. Not to use any technique in an attempt to learn the identity of any person, establishment, or sampling unit not identified in the dataset.
  3. To hold in strictest confidence the identification of any establishments or individuals that may be inadvertently revealed in any documents or discussion, or analysis. Such inadvertent identification revealed in their analyses should immediately be reported to the PSA.

Access Conditions by Type of Statistical Activity

1. For Household-based surveys

Microdata for household-based surveys could be obtained by filling out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form. The PSA Information Section would either provide you the subset of the microdata as per your request via email or in CD format. The PSA Information Section staff will coordinate with you on how you will receive the data and in what format.

2. For Establishment-based survey

Microdata for establishment-based surveys would only be available for access through the PSA Data Enclave. For more details on how to reach the PSA Data Enclave, kindly fill out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form. The PSA Information Section will discuss with you the procedure in accessing microdata from the PSA Data Enclave.

3. For Censuses (excluding the Census of Philippine Business and Industry)

Microdata for censuses conducted after one hundred (100) years can be accessed from the PSA pursuant to Section 26 of the Republic Act No. 10625 (Philippine Statistics Act of 2013) for historical, genealogical, scientific or other research purposes. Portions of the more recent census datasets (excluding Census of Philippine Business and Industry) can be requested from PSA. For interested parties, kindly fill out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form.

Note: The Microdata for Census of Philippine Business and Industry is excluded from the access condition given above since it contains information that are considered confidential. Data on Census of Philippine Business and Industry may be access through the PSA Data Enclave. More information on the access condition will be given below.

4. For Census of Philippine Business and Industry

Microdata for the Census of Philippine Business and Industry would only be available for access through the PSA Data Enclave. For more details on how to reach the PSA Data Enclave, kindly fill out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form. The PSA Information Section will discuss with you the procedure in accessing microdata from the PSA Data Enclave.

5. For Foreign Trade Statistics of the Philippines

Microdata for the Foreign Trade Statistics (FTS) of the Philippines could be obtained by filling out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form.

The PSA Information Section would either provide you the microdata as per your request via email or in CD format. The PSA Information Section staff will coordinate with you on how you can receive the data in your preferred format.

6. For Commodity Flow in the Philippines

Tables on the Commodity Flow in the Philippines (CFP) can be downloaded from the special releases published in the PSA Website at: https://psa.gov.ph/tags/commodity-flow-philippines. Microdata for CFP could be obtained by filling out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form. The PSA Information Section would either provide you the subset of the microdata as per your request via email or in CD format. The PSA Information Section staff will coordinate with you on how you can receive the data in your preferred format. Request for special tabulation and complete microdata can be requested from the Trade Statistics Division at tsd.staff@psa.gov.ph.

7. For Construction Statistics from Approved Building Permits

Microdata for Construction Statistics from Approved Building Permits are not available due to confidentiality. However, tables are available from quarterly special releases and annual special release and are posted at http://psa.gov.ph/statistics/administrative-based/construction. For requests for special tabulations, kindly fill out the PSA Data Request Form at: https://psa.gov.ph/content/data-request-form.
